ShiftWise user David Coats takes us inside his job and tells us what it’s like using the vendor management software.

How often do you use ShiftWise? 

David: I use ShiftWise on a weekly/monthly basis but I have a team of account managers that use it daily, all day long. I have a compliance team as well. They’re uploading profiles and they’re on ShiftWise all day long.

How has it helped your business grow?

David: When you have more time to do other things, focus on other accounts, really drive relationships that helps your business grow. I really appreciate the relationship we have with ShiftWise and it’s broken us into markets to gain business and that has definitely helped our business grow.

Is the ShiftWise software user friendly? 

David: I would say ShiftWise is the most user friendly platform that we use. From candidate uploads to jobs opening and closing it seems to be the favorite for our account management team. Our users have learned how to use ShiftWise, some in 2 or 3 hours of teaching themselves, some say they were experts after two or three weeks.

How has it made your job easier?

David: ShiftWise has made my job easier because I think it’s made our sales team and account management recruitment team much more efficient. When we have jobs that open and close in ShiftWise and it’s a real time basis, we really know what the true accuracy of our jobs are. When you have 2000 open jobs across the country and we have 35+ recruiters, they want to be working on jobs that are real. And they want to recruit for jobs they know aren’t stale, are moving. I also like to think back to the compliance piece when I started in this industry in 2002, we would fax CPR cards and licensure over to hospitals and now you have one document management platform file in ShiftWise so if a hospital is ever audited or if a compliance person needs to get documents, everyone knows where to go and that’s a safe storage space.

What’s your favorite feature within ShiftWise?

David: My account management team likes the candidate ranking. When a job opens, if we submit to it, we know where we stand. We’re either #1, #3, #15, you know. I like to go back when a candidate is confirmed for a position, there’s no misunderstanding because the client has confirmed, the business has confirmed, Emerald knows our candidate is going to this hospital and the hospital knows the nurse is going to be there. It’s a two way communication.
