2. Make “efficiency” something real and not just a corporate buzz word
If you’re still using ineffective manual processes to find, hire and manage contingent staff, you’re not alone. Working under an avalanche of phone calls, emails, spreadsheets and all sorts of “tear your hair out” processes is actually quite common. But being “common” isn’t the same as being efficient.
Did you know you can pool your vendors together into a single system and have multiple hiring options presented to you in a single view? Not only that, but each staff person you select from has loads of data associated with him/her that informs the hiring decision. Add in the efficiencies gained through invoice management, credentialing and reporting and the benefits add up fast. Processes that once took hundreds of hours might now be something that saves hundreds of hours.
3. See data, use data
One of the best things about modernizing contingent staffing processes is the amount of data it provides in ways that can be used to better inform decisions. When every transaction is recorded to a database, it becomes reportable with sorting, filtering and other efficient ways of analyzing that information.
Manual processes are like wandering around in a dark room trying to find a light switch. You desperately want to see more and you know what you’re looking for is probably right in front of you. But all you can do is guess. When the switch is on, everything is transparent. You KNOW vendor fill rates and cost breakdowns across the board. You KNOW your newest hire is 100% qualified. You KNOW hiring person A over person B will avoid an overtime expense.
Simply put, you know. And this is what makes you an industry leader.
