SW: Congrats on winning the 2015 ShiftWise Dependability Award! What were the leading factors that lead to this achievement?

Rehab: Everyone here at RehabAbilities embraces a personal commitment to professional excellence, from our dynamic office team to our healthcare professionals in the field. Our number one goal is to consistently provide exceptional patient care for all of our Clients. 

SW: What was your staffing experience like prior to ShiftWise?

Rehab: Sometimes getting a hold of our Clients to confirm bookings was challenging. DORs today are busy running their departments and sometimes treating patients too! Answering the phone or emails to confirm bookings is a time consuming task for them. With ShiftWise, they can enter their order and get back to more important things — treating patients!

SW: How has ShiftWise helped to streamline your staffing process?

Rehab: For the Clients we service that use ShiftWise, staffing long-term orders is a breeze! Our Clients enter their orders and I can quickly log in and match employees to the order, set the bill rate and I’m done! SO easy!

SW: What is you favorite feature within the ShiftWise application?

Rehab: I really like that I can sort orders by Unit/Dept. Since our company specializes in Allied Therapy and Social Work, I can quickly pull up only those orders that would apply to us. This is a huge time saver for me! 

SW: Your cancellation rate for 2015 has been an astounding 0%, how do you continue to book such dependable staff to your orders?

Rehab: One reason is our Joint Commission Certification. We take that very seriously. It means ALL of our employees hold themselves to a higher standard. Cancellations hurt everyone — clients, their employees, who have to work harder and longer when registry staff cancel, and most importantly the patients. We have one therapist whose car broke down the morning of her shift. Instead of calling out, she rented a car and reported for work. That’s the kind of dedication you can expect from a RehabAbilities employee.

SW: What advice would you give you to other supplies who use ShiftWise that are struggling with their cancellation rates?

Rehab: EVERYONE in your organization has to remember why they chose Healthcare as a career. It’s for the child who walks in leg braces. It’s for the teenager who was in a car accident because a thoughtless driver slammed into them while texting. It’s for the 82 year old who recently had a hip replacement or can’t speak after suffering a stroke. PATIENTS. If you always have them in the forefront of your mind, there’s not much that will stop you from ensuring they get the care they need.

SW: What would you say to a supplier who is considering using ShiftWise?
